Whatever personal convictions we may have, most of us are instinctively aware that days and weeks tend to rush by in a blur, and that we all could benefit from scheduling time devoted to fundamentals rather than the day-to-day grind of relentless activity.

With its patented SEPTAGRAPH™, indicating the Rahu Kaal, inspired by three millennia of Southern India astronomical and astrological observation and combined with several centuries of Swiss horological tradition, Borgeaud offers watch owners a daily renewed invitation to savour a time that is quintessentially personal – and yet shared with countless others around the world – during a daily appointed period that conveniently varies for each day of the week.

Marc Aeschbacher, co-founder and CEO of Borgeaud, found himself fascinated by this theme and in particular by the Rahu Kaal approach to cosmology and philosophy. While deeply rooted in the noble horological traditions of his native village of Fleurier (Canton of Neuchâtel), he is also keenly interested in other cultures and eager to build bridges between different worldviews.

He therefore enlisted, among others, the informed guidance of well-known watch industry consultant Hugues-Olivier Borès, who continues to build on substantial experience acquired through years in charge of marketing and sales for the most prestigious Swiss watch manufacturer. Together, they decided to create a watch that would offer its wearer one of life's most precious commodities: a daily pause for thought as the ideal antidote to stress-induced precipitate action.
